This job consists of two new buildings constructed along with various site improvements, including a new parking lot, underground utility extensions and landscaping improvements. The first building is a newly constructed Dormitory Building, adding up to 74,800 SF, using hollow core slabs. The second standalone building is the Dining Hall, which is also new construction. The Dormitory adds space for 306 students to an internationally expanding campus while the Dining Hall provides dining and serving facilities on the ground floor and a social and meeting area on the second floor. The buildings are united by a common plaza that provides the students an area to congregate in contributing to the campus lifestyle. This building has a total of 25,600 SF and a total of two stories, using conventional CBS shell construction with a structural steel frame design.
This project was the recipient of the SFAGC Build Florida Awards for Higher Education/Student Housing Over $25 Million and the Eagle Award by Associated Builders and Contractors, Florida East Coast Chapter Excellence in Construction Award.
