Tilt-up construction of an 119,000 SF, 3-story, industrial plant with impact windows for the Miami Herald Media Company. The new facility has three, 900 KW backup generators and a 6,000 gallon above ground fuel tank, as well as five recessed 800 gallon ink tanks, dust collectors, compressed air systems, reverse osmosis system, inertia pad, rolled handling equipment, printing presses and conveyor systems.
In addition to the Production Facility Link renovated a 160,000 SF building that houses the company’s news and business division. The two properties will sit adjacent to each other on a 15-acre site in Doral.
Building Information Modeling was used from preconstruction to close-out. The process helped in identifying potential conflicts. BIM also provided efficient communication of design intent with subcontractors during coordination and planning meetings and ultimately helped eliminate rework.
Link Construction Group was a proud recipient of ABC East Coast Florida's Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award, as well as the Industrial Project of the Year by NAIOP South Florida
