Our team, along with MDCPS, completed the GOB project, Kendall Square K-8 Center. Zyscovich and Link Construction Group were commissioned to deliver Phase I of the new school. Phase I consisted of a new 58,765 SF, two-story facility on 8.75 acres, which houses 750 student stations for K-5 Grades. The scope included classrooms, labs, student and staff restrooms, a media center with media production lab, digital iTV and CCTV, an Administrative area, full-production kitchen and serving areas accommodating 1,200 student stations, an interior dining area, music lab/performance platform, P.E. shelter, primary and kindergarten play areas, parent and bus drop-offs and covered walkways, staff and visitor parking, service yard, landscaping, drainage and irrigation systems, perimeter fencing, and a marquee sign. The type of construction was type 2B, tilt-up, concrete, exterior wall panels, and precast concrete framing, along with site improvements and utility infrastructure. General systems contained in work consist of civil, landscaping, building and structural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems.
Link was awarded the Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award by Associated Builders and Contractors Florida East Coast Chapter.
