This job consists of a new seven story middle/high school with a parking garage and a basement area. The total job is approximately 237,223 GSF. The project is designed for a maximum enrollment of 1,500 students and 90 faculty/staff members. Required parking is provided on five levels, one level of subterranean parking and four levels above grade, which will be lined by habitable space to shield parking and service functions from public view. The building will be a seven-story educational facility with classrooms and specialty rooms (Computer Labs, Science Labs, Offices), assembly spaces, a cafeteria with a full kitchen, a terrace overlooking Miami, a gymnasium, bathrooms and gym lockers, a parking garage, administrative areas and interior corridors. In addition to the new school, there will be several off-site improvements to allow parents/teachers easy access in/out of the school zone. Due to the location of the site and the proximity to the ocean, several temporary and permanent wells have been placed for water control, along with a dewatering plan for the underground basement’s excavation and large mat footings.
