Hialeah Park Racing and Casino, a historic landmark, which originally opened its doors in the early 1920’s—becoming a hot spot for celebrities such as Frank Sinatra and dignitaries like President Harry S. Truman. Purchasing the property in 1977, John J. Brunetti had a vision for Hialeah Park’s rebirth. In 2013, a comprehensive development supporting the rich tradition and revitalization of the entire 200 acre property initiated, bringing back to glory a place that will entertain families and adults (both young and old), and once again to become a tourist destination. Mr. Brunetti’s plan restored Hialeah’s historic buildings and verdant gardens, brought horse racing back, and created a new entertainment experience for Miami-Dade County and the world. Link completed Phase 1 early 2014 and the portion of the project entailed the complete renovation of the existing North Grandstand Building and the construction of a two-story, 180,000 sq. ft. casino addition, a porte-cochere and a network of covered arcades and elevated terraces surrounding the revitalized historic paddock and Flamingo Fountain Garden. Now we are racing ahead and we are pleased to have been chosen again by Mr. Brunetti to complete Phase 2A, 2B and 2C.
Phase 2A, which will begin construction in October and is slated for completion in February of 2015 entails building out the existing shelled second floor space for the expansion of the newly built Poker Room. This will allow for an additional ten (10) Poker Tables. Also being built, are new Men’s and Women’s Restrooms, a new Food Service Storage, and expanding the existing Kitchen. At the exterior ground floor Fountain Terrace we will be expanding the existing wood and steel trellis then installing an all new tensioned fabric canopy above. Also, on the ground floor is a new designated area to be called Music Pavilion which will have a Bandstand for Artists to play at special events.
Phase 2B known as the Expansion, Renovations & Related Site Improvements to Clubhouse Simulcast & Middle Grandstand. During this phase the first floor received new restrooms, utility rooms, new pit for the escalator, warehouse, new concrete stairs to access the trackside stands and a new elevator tower structure connecting to all floors within the Middle Grand Stand. The second floor, known as the Middle Grandstand, has new restrooms, utilities, support rooms, and elevator. The second floor Clubhouse Simulcast was enclosed Simulcast, Multi-Purpose, Diner, Grab & Go and Support. The 3rd floor has a restored & renovated skybox apron area to create a new Cocktail Terrace Seating, Lounge/Loge Seating and Theater Bar. The project has all new utilities infrastructure including plumbing, mechanical and electrical throughout the Middle Grandstand & Clubhouse.
