This hospital construction project involved the complete renovation of the existing critical-care unit (CCU), located in the 9th-floor wing at Broward Health North in Pompano Beach, Florida. The existing 9th floor space underwent extensive interior demolition by our crews before new construction work could begin, and all work was completed with minimal disturbance to normal operations at the hospital.
New interior upfit tasks included installing brand-new casework, doors, frames, hardware, auto-sliding doors, all new finishes, toilet accessories, wall protection, headwalls, new branch sprinklers, and red-painted piping. Link also installed updated mechanical systems, including two new air-handler units, ductwork, insulation, dampers, new plumbing fixtures, piping, new electrical light fixtures, outlets, panels, fire alarm systems, and all-new nurse call system for the area.
Additionally, this hospital renovation project created a new nurse’s station, lounge, cleaning supply storage area, refreshment and nourishment facility, eight critical-care units, toilet rooms, and mechanical room. The project is an excellent example of Link’s outstanding commercial construction and renovation capabilities, and we are confident it will function at the highest levels of efficiency and performance for many years to come.
